Every lipoprotein particle (, , , ) carries exactly one protein, so measuring ApoB tells you how many cholesterol-carrying particles are circulating. Modern preventive cardiology favors ApoB over because two people can have identical LDL with very different particle counts and very different risk. Longevity-oriented targets are commonly <80 mg/dL, with stricter targets for those with established risk.
